True, oil company profits are high. But their profit margin is one of the lowest of any industry. Oil company profit margins are only around 8 percent. Hedge funds have one of the biggest profit margins at over 80 percent. The majority of shareholders in oil companies are mutual funds that many retirement and 401k accounts hold, while it is a very closed group that holds hedge fund shares. Another interesting note is how many politicians have hege fund shares instead of oil company stock.

Thanks, Rolando! A great reminder AND challenge for photographers to "see" the finished photo in the frame before pushing the button.

Rolando,
Thank you for this Holiday reminder to slow down and take time to appreciate the important things in this country. My best friend from highschool just got back in country and back in town after his second tour. I know from him, that everyone of them to a man, truly appreciates hearing the words thank you. While those words are so little compared to the sacrifices they have made, they truly make the difference to the moral of the guys over there. Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to type this reminder to say thank you to the men and women who serve our country. May God bless you and your family, and I hope this note finds you well!

Yep, I agree, though I must admit I am mystified how such greats as George Hurrell could get away with canoeing shots - some of Hurrell's finest work contain some of the most extreme angles, with eyes swimming in white. But then again, one of his first movie star subjects, Norma Shearer, was known to have been a bit cross-eyed, and Hurrell somehow masked that beautifully... Here's wishing everyone a fantastic 2008!

I have lost many friends to the wars, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of all those in the military that continue to do the job that not many can or even want to. So many are wounded and killed everyday. I find it hard to complain about anything when I know that so many don’t have the option to, they just do what is expected of them day after day. I grew up facing Vietnam but just like then so many complained and ran away never understanding that they had that choice because so many had made the right choice to give and possible make the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

The closest I've seen to an electronic business card is Plaxo. It's not something you can hand to anyone, but it is one up on Outlook or most of the other mail management programs in that it automatically updates your contacts who are also on Plaxo. The downside is that only about 10% of my contacts are on Plaxo.

I totally agree with what you're saying regarding font and colors... the same holds true for any form of document design. We have so many choices for fonts and colors to make it easier to design a document to convey a mood, not so that we can try to see how many different ones we can use in a single document.

I don't understand why you keep saying "Greaser" when the comment made by Paul was "Body Grease". Now I don't live in Paul's head and a diligent re-read of the statement should probably have caused it to be changed to "Body Oil", but then again you are in Texas and Oil is associated with Texas, so that might be another slur nobody has thought about, but I'm sure they will. YMMV
