We’re headed to the beautiful Cabo San Lucas, yes, the tip of the Baja California Mexico Peninsula, where you’ll photograph our models on beaches and great locations. This is a model photography adventure while exploring the state of Baja California Sur. While our focus is photographing up to five models, we’ll take the time to explore the highlights too, like the famous “Los Arcos” geological formation and even relax for a drink at Sammy Hagar’s “Cabo Wabo” bar.
It’s all about taking great photos of models in great locations, from beaches to cobblestone streets, and it’s also about taking the time to relax a bit too.
This photography workshop is the weekend after Memorial Day, so you can capitalize on less expensive airfare and lodging. We will photograph models Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Come before the photography workshop, and stay after the photography workshop, just be prepared to take some great photos during the weekend!
Here are the particulars, arrive Thursday June 1st, by 7 p.m. as we’ll meet for dinner that evening at a designated location and make introductions and plan out our shoots for the weekend. The workshop wraps up Sunday evening, so it’s up to you how early and how late you’d like to stay and enjoy this great location.
The airport is Los Cabos International Airport and the airport code is SJD and it’s a short taxi ride into the Cabo San Lucas tourist corridor area where we’ll be based.
Book any hotel in the Cabo San Lucas tourist corridor and we’ll meet up every day at a specific location, so you get to choose the level of economy or luxury you’d like as taxi fares are cheap. Hotels vary from $100 a night and up, again, depending on your level of luxury. We will make recommendations too. We recommend that you use Hotels.com or a similar site to check the local rates.
You are responsible for your travel, food, beverages and lodging, we provide the models, guidance, and photography instruction to ensure you capture some great photos. You will photograph models each day, throughout the day.
Feel free to bring a camera flash, though we’ll have some gear for your use and will show you how to use natural reflectors and the ambient light to your advantage. Camera requirements are any type of camera, preferably 35mm DSLR or SLR, medium or large format is optional. Lens focal range, from 24mm to 200mm, though a typical 70-200mm lens is all you need. Bring a laptop computer or a backup storage device to back up your images. Photo critiques will be provided throughout this photography adventure.
We ask that you are physically fit enough to do some light walking without assistance and able to comfortably carry your own camera gear. We’ll be in warm weather bright sunshine, basically being on the beach on a sunny day. Bring some sunscreen, and dress comfortably. You agree you are traveling and attending this travel and model photography adventure at your own risk—in other words, practice safety and common sense, something we stress to everyone—this is our 17th year in conducting photography workshops and adventures, it works!
