We’re going to the Northern, Outer Banks in North Carolina, Sept. 15-19, 2010. We’ll have access to a private pool, hot tub, 14-bedroom, luxurious vacation home on the ocean front plus sandy beaches, dunes, and the ocean. This workshop is limited in size and we’re featuring six gorgeous models. Limited time will be alloted for workshop, after-hours shooting on a first-come, first-serve basis for an additional fee paid to the model and make-up artist, similar to our Virgin Islands workshops.
This workshop is open to photographers of all levels, beginners to advanced. We’ll have a small lecture, hands-on, then we shoot, shoot, shoot, six talented models, teams of two photographers for each model, rotated twice per day–thus allowing you to photograph two models each day for longer shooting times.
You’ll learn how to overpower the sun with flash, how to color the sky and water, in the camera. We’ll primarily work outdoors along with some indoor shooting in a luxurious, ocean front property.
Here are the particulars:
1. You must pay for your own lodging and travel, we’ll provide suggestions.
2. Bring your camera, preferrably a DSLR. It must have a hotshoe (where you flash slides on top) or as a minimum, a pc connection for our studio flash–we provide all equipment.
3. You must have the passion to photograph up to six beautiful models and patient enough for them to change into wardrobe and have their make-up done by a professional. The type of photography is glamour and nude photography for most models. You’ll photograph them in all their beauty, from glamour to glamour nude.
4. While it’s intense, we’ll have fun in this educational experience. We’ll provide lunch, you provide the coffee if you need it, but surely bring some Red Bull for energy because this is an energized workshop.
5. Camera requirements are any type of camera, preferably 35mm DSLR or SLR, medium or large format is optional. Lens focal range, from 24mm to 200mm, though a typical 70-200mm lens is all you need. Larger lenses work nicely in this type of shooting environment also. A back-up drive to download your images every evening and/orlaptop computer is highly recommended. If you have a Sony camera, please ensure you have a hot shoe adapter or PC connection.
6. Professionalism is required, we’re there to capture beautiful images of beautiful models. If you have Pocket Wizard remotes, bring them too, though not required as we’ll have our own radio triggers. We’ll work with beauty dishes, softboxes, reflectors and more, all provided by us!
If you can meet the requirements and you have the passion to create some beautiful, unique images, this is the workshop for you. We accept payments securely through PayPal and have other options if you prefer. This is a first-come, first-serve event as class size is limited. Cost is $999 per person (early–bird) for the 3-day Glamour, Beauty & the Nude workshop. The price will go up to $1299 soon, so save $300 right now! Model releases are optional.
You may use the secure PayPal button below to secure your spot.
Model releases for this event is $60 per model at the end of the workshop on Sunday–this release fee is for all three days combined, not three separate charges. These are voluntary releases. These releases are provided and allow you to use the images for commercial use and the only restriction is prohibited use for adult related material—nudes are artistic and glamour nude only at this workshop when it comes to nudity. Failure to secure release only allows for use of images in hand-printed, hand-carried portfolio. Online use requires a release as this promotes your photography talents.
Lodging and Travel. We do not provide travel or lodging, this is your expense. We will however provide travel from an assembly point on the Outer Banks (new window), where you can park you car securely, to the shooting location. The shooting location is only accessible by four-wheel drive and we will have vehicles to get you there and back to your car everyday. We ask that you arrive Wednesday, no later than 5 p.m. so we may assign you a teammate photographer and provide you with all necessary information so you can be ready to go come Thursday morning with your model and equipment. Cars will be parked at a special location, but away from the property.
For lodging, we are working on a hotel package, but the options will be either a hotel, condo, or rental property from a top management firm in the area with an inventory of over 850 beach rentals. Estimated costs for hotel, $75 per night, for condo, $300 per week, for rental houses, including beachfront, approximately $1,000 per week–so you can bring the family and give them something to do. Combine a vacation with a workshop, the possibilities are fantastic for those that want to bring their significant other. Please keep in mind though, no one but the attendees are allowed at the workshop. We will make exceptions for the Saturday BBQ on a limited basis. All options are very reasonable and a good estimate is from under $100 per night and more. All lodging we will recommend is within 20 minutes or less from the daily pick-up and drop-off point. We will provide you a contact for more information on lodging at discounted prices.
Hurricane/adverse weather disclosure. We will provide you the opportunity to secure an adverse weather/hurricane insurance policy for under $50 that will cover losses for this event. Should there be a hurricane/adverse weather event, we will only credit you full-price toward another event if the event is cancelled and you do not secure this insurance policy. If you secure the insurance policy, you will be reimbursed via your insurance policy from major insurance provider. We will provide you the details. We assume no other liability other than outlined above.
Cancellation rules apply (falls under Exotic Workshop cancellation rules) as this is a first-come, first-serve event limited in size. Don’t get left behind, don’t miss out on a wonderful opportunity. We can’t allow too many people on the property, it’s very limited in size, so don’t delay, act now an save before prices go up!

great post as usual!
